About Us

How We're Helping

Homeless person sleeping on a park bench

We are a nonprofit organization focused on assisting chronically homeless individuals, who are entitled to federal benefits, manage their funds in order to allocate budgets for housing and personal needs, receive treatment and achieve a level of financial responsibility and independence.

Housing Stabilizes At-Risk People

Are you passionate about helping veterans? Do you see homeless people on the street and wonder how you can help? Many homeless veterans and disabled get federal benefits. They just need help managing their funds and keeping connected to mental health services and case managers.

Get Involved

Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading word of the I-PLUS mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Sign up for our newsletter and get involved!

Volunteer with US

I-PLUS is changing lives by meeting people at their point of need—organizing resources, participating in life-changing support programs and, most importantly, developing life goals. We serve as a life resource for our disabled veteran and community clients—and we need your help to meet our growing demand for services.

We rely on volunteers, who share our passion for paving a path to stable living for chronically homeless individuals. As an I-PLUS volunteer, you will invest in your neighbors who have experienced chronic homelessness and aid in changing their lives in positive ways that extend far into the future.

Volunteers are vital to I-PLUS as an organization and to our program participants, staff and community. We offer three types of volunteer opportunities:

Office Assistance

  • Do you have administrative skills? We rely on office volunteers to help augment our staff by answering phones in the office, opening client mail, filing documents and scheduling appointments. When clients join the I-PLUS program, many, if not all of their bills, are sent directly to I-PLUS or dropped off at the office by our clients at their regularly scheduled budgeting meetings. This ensures that all their bills are paid on-time and that clients stay on budget.
  • If you would like to assist, please join us. We meet once per month on Saturdays to keep up with our administrative filing work. Refreshments are provided.

Client Advisor Support

  • Our Client Advisors serve as an advocate and resource for our clients to meet their financial and life goals. Signing up as a client is often the first step in changing the course of their lives for many of our clients after they leave in-patient psychiatric treatment for disorders like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse treatment.
  • If you have budgeting or reporting experience and would like to put these skills to work, please let us know.

Event Planning

  • We host several events throughout the year for clients and I-PLUS supporters. We can always use volunteers to help plan and execute our events.
  • If you would like to join an event committee, or volunteer at an event (setting up prior to event start, serving refreshments, etc.), please let us know.
